Season of The Lovers - New Moon in Gemini Newsletter
Opening to Gemini season from the lens of it's tarot association, The Lovers.
Dear You,
Happy New Moon in Gemini — the sign of the twins! Being in the astrological season of Gemini feels like looking into a mirror. I believe it’s in this season and under this new moon that we have the opportunity to connect with our souls desires. It is in this energy that we can be pulled into reflections about our relationships and what they could be teaching us. All desires and relationships have the potential to expand what we know and believe about the world — as well what we know and believe about ourselves.
We could talk about this new moon and the invitations of Gemini season from an astrological forecast standpoint, but what I really want to with you is observe it from the lens of tarot…
It’s the season of The Lovers, baby!
Tarot and astrology are both forms of introspection and divination. I believe that study of astrology tends to offer structure, where as tarot invites us into the ebb and flow of feeling and intuition.
When we take the the astrological season we’re under and it’s tarot connection into consideration, we can feel into the zodiac and the tarot from a new framework.
We’re in Gemini season, connected to the Major Arcana card of the Lovers. What could The Lovers show us about the sign of Gemini, and vice-versa?
Here are a few themes to keep your heart open to during this new moon and for the rest of the season of the lovers. You just discover these themes within the Major Arcana card as well!
Desire or envy - Gemini is the sign of the twins — thus a reflective energy. I believe that when one stumbles across something that brings up a strong desire within them —there is a mirror being held up to the soul.
Learning about service - In my opinion, both The Lovers and it’s sister sign tarot card Justice both carry just a hint of the theme of service. They can actively pull us into learning about relationships and where we really need to or want to offer our energy through different experiences.
Thought - Gemini is connected to the realm of the mind, which mean while experiencing The Lover’s energy it can stir up a lot of thoughts. It can raise a lot of questions. It can ask us to take note of our perceptions, expectations, etc.
Mental and emotional vulnerability - What strikes me most about The Lovers is the two nude figures we see on the card, symbolically said to be Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
(The Garden of Eden in itself is a whole other realm of spiritual symbolism!!)
Nudity can suggest a raw, vulnerable energy where we feel exposed or completely comfortably seen for who we are.
New Moon energies tend to be naturally introspective — they feel like The Hermit card of the moon phases! Often times during this moon phase, we feel ourselves slowing down to reflect and recharge. This is a natural rhythm. Please remember that the most important thing during any new moon is to reflect on anything that feels right to you. As long as you are not inflicting harm, there is no right or wrong way to have a spiritual practice — despite what some say.
The season of The Lovers and the new moon like all things in the universe sometimes ask that instead of acting, we listen. Let these themes appear to you, if they may.
Til’ next time!
With Love,
Cameron
